Praising With Focus

Spend time praying for different areas of your life.

It is easy to feel stumped in prayer and praise. Not because we don't have anything to praise God about but rather that there is soooo much to praise Him for that we don't know where to begin! So help your group continue to be purposeful in praise by focusing on certain areas as you get together.

Tell your group that your praise time is going to be focused on several different areas of their lives, i.e. finances, jobs, salvation, marriage issues, forgiveness, etc.

Explain that you will guide them through several minutes of prayer and that you will change the "topic" of praise after a minute or so. Ask them to please pray sentence prayers regarding the given topic.

For example, for the first minute ask your group to thank God, praise Him, for their families, i.e. kids, spouses, parents, grandparents, etc. "Father, I praise You for my healthy kids."

As always you should model for your group a short, sentence prayer to get them started. Be sure to encourage them to pray several times as new thoughts come to their minds.

Areas of Praise:
