When I Was a Kid…

What did you enjoy most when you were a child?

Take the time to gather the following items before your group meets. Display these items where everyone can see them. Explain to your group that you want them to use one of the items to complete the following statement: "When I was a kid I loved … because … " The items are purely symbolic. For example I might pick up the book and say, "When was a kid I loved books because they took me to other lands."

  • Scissors/glue
  • Stuffed animal
  • Food item
  • Ruler or calculator
  • A toy/ play horse or match box car
  • Basketball or baseball or football
  • Remote control
  • CD or tape
  • Dollar bill
  • Picture or card symbolic of friendship
  • Cross
