Your Dream Home

Taking a real-estate approach to heaven

This icebreaker is best used as an introduction to the topic of heaven, or eternity. It could also apply to stewardship and materialism.

Leader: Before the group meeting, gather photos and descriptions for several different "dream homes" around the world. You could use real estate brochures, magazines like Better Homes & Gardens, or even the website for HGTV. Gather the information for each home into a packet, either by stapling the pages together or creating a folder for each one.

Once the group gathers, pass the folders around and give everyone a chance to study each home. If they want to talk about the features of different homes, that's great. Allow this activity to take a little time and get everyone talking.

When the folders have been passed around, ask: "Which of these houses would you choose as your "dream home"? What do you especially like about it?
