What Melted Your Heart

Use an ice cube to help the group discuss what has melted their hearts in the past.

Say to your group, "Think of time in your life when your heart was hardened. What is one thing that helped melt or soften your heart? (Pass around an ice cube in a baggy and encourage your group members to hold the bagged cube as they are sharing. After everyone is done sharing refer to the melting cube and ask, "Why did the cube melt?" People's responses will vary but the bottom line is that people's warm touch changed the cube. This is a great lead in to a topic on how our lives can minister to the lives of those in our world.)
