Light one large candle and put it somewhere in the middle of the room where your group is meeting. Explain that this candle represents God. Then give each person a smaller unlit candle and ask them to think of one question they would like an answer to (i.e., why do children have to suffer?).

When everyone has had time to think, go around the circle and have each person share their question. Instruct the group that, as they share their question, each person should light his/her candle from the flame of the central candle, and then leave their smaller candles standing beside the larger one.

When everyone is finished, remind your group that, although we may not see or know the answers to our questions right now, God does. And he will reveal those answers one day. Let the candles burn during your lesson as a reminder of God's faithfulness.
