Acts: How to Have an Eternal Impact

Acts: How to Have an Eternal Impact

Discover the ways in which you can have an eternal impact on others and the world.

To have an eternal impact we need to understand what's important to God. As we catch his heart, we can be driven by God's mission: to live not in search of self-fulfillment but in a continual, dynamic, personal relationship with God and to help others do the same. This five-part course on the Book of Acts will help us see our need for an eternal mission, which includes joy in Christ, connecting with others, using our gifts, and making Christ what our lives are about. Note: This course was developed with Community Christian Church and New Thing Network.

Session One

Be Driven by God's Mission
Live in a dynamic relationship with God and help others to do the same.
Acts 1:1–11

To have an eternal impact we need to understand what's important to God. As we catch his heart, we can be driven by God's mission: to live not in search of self-fulfillment but to live in a continual, dynamic, personal relationship with God and to help others do the same. This study will explore these ideas and help us to put them into practice.

Session Two

Celebrate Your Relationship with God
Your relationship with God is not part of your life; it is your life.
Acts 16:16–34

This study will help you see how you can be driven and powered by the Holy Spirit in your relationship with Jesus Christ, so that he becomes your passion and joy.

Session Three

Connect with Others
To have an eternal impact, we must connect with other Christ followers.
Acts 2:42–47

This study will examine how we will not be able to have an eternal impact unless we are living in community with others.

Session Four

Contribute to Eternity
It takes courage and boldness to follow Christ.
Acts 4:32–37; 5:1–10

God gives us the privilege of contributing to his eternal kingdom. He allows our lives to take on eternal velocity in what we can accomplish with him and for him through his Spirit. It's a velocity that we can never experience without the courage and boldness to do what God wants us to do. This study will challenge us to take those steps.

Session Five

Make Christ Your Life
Christ is not part of life; he is our life.
Acts 9:1–19

This study will examine that conversion and what it meant for Paul to know God through the power of the Holy Spirit, as he infused an eternal velocity into Paul's life that propelled him to become one of the most powerful human forces in the history of Christianity.
