We Will Call

Participate in a responsive reading based on Psalm 91.

Reader: Lord God, you are love.

Group: Love began with you and ends with you.

Reader: Thank you for showing your love for us. You sent Your only Son so that we might live. We could have never made it on own but through your sacrifice you showed us the way… the way to true life and love.

Group: Thanks for the sacrifice of your Son.

Reader: Thanks for the shedding of His blood to clear our names. Thank you for restoring the broken relationship between us. We find ourselves standing where we always wanted to stand-right smack dab in the middle of your perfect grace … given so freely to us. We love you Lord … because you first loved us. Yes, you have shown us a perfect love.

Group: Now we pray that we may do the same in your name.

Reader: God, You are a safe place to hide …

Group: and ready to help us when we need You.

Reader: We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in a raging sea storm and shattering earthquake, before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains. We trust that You fight for us, that Your armies of angels protect us.

Group: We will sit down in the High God's presence.

Reader: We will spend the night in Shaddai's shadow.

Group: God, our refuge.

Reader: We trust in You and we are safe!

Group: Thank You for rescuing us from hidden traps and shielding us from deadly hazards.

Reader: Your huge outstretched arms protect us-under them we are perfectly safe; Your arms fend off all harm. We will fear nothing-not wild wolves in the night,

Group: not flying arrows in the day,

Reader: not disease that prowls through the darkness,

Group: not disaster that erupts at high noon.

Reader: Even though others succumb all around, drop like flies right and left,

Group: we will not be harmed.

Reader: You have ordered your angels to guard us wherever we go. If we stumble, they'll catch us; their job is to keep us from falling.

Group: We'll hold on to You for dear life.

Reader: We'll call.

Group: And trust that You will answer.

All: Amen
