Leading Your Small Group

My small group hasn't taken to the Bible study we're currently using. We all paid for discussion guides, but we're not even halfway through. What should we do?

I am in almost the same situation. As Associate Pastor, I received this e-mail from the group leader: "We met last week and came up with a new way to study ACTS. We will just read a chapter a week, a section at a time in the bible and discuss with out the book. Some people were not happy with the format of the book. As the leader you still need to think of a question or two that goes with each section to get the ball rolling. Other than that we are doing it the "old fashion way" bible study with the bible. So, I really don't have any answers. Any "healthy guidelines" I can give to this group? I think accountability is good to have in place since I do not attend thus I do not know what is being "taught."

Hi Vernice, I think flexibility is a big deal for small groups. So if one or more of your groups has become unhappy with the current curriculum, I would allow them to do something else.

in our church all small groups are doing the same lessons. Some groups are getting tired of the lessons we are doing. What can we do to make sure we all are on the same page?

Life is too short, and our mission is to important to let a $10 study guide stop us from doing what we need to do. If the guide we picked and bought isn't doing the job, then get rid of it and move on to what you need to be doing.
