Connecting Your Small Group
How can I help the members of my small group pray for each other on a more regular basis?

I believe part of it just comes from encouraging them on the power of prayer. James 5:13-16- (select parts) Are any among you suffering? They should pray. Are any cheerful? They should sing songs of praise. Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sins will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of the righteous is powerful and effective. Then after that I believe it has always been easier to live a life of prayer when one is modeled for you. If you see them in the church somewhere, just pray over them then and there. Let them see the beauty of prayer for each other in the there and now. Then those thoughts and passions for praying will carry over to the quiet place.
The more time people spend together they naturally care more about each other. If certain people are naturally drawn to each other talk about prayer within your group and how the scripture talks about where 2 or 3 are gathered together...You cant really force people to be prayer partners, but encouraging it is probably the best way to go.
1. we pray for each other to keep them in the faith. 2. we pray for each other, so that God will give them the strength to stand evil deed. 3. we pray for each other to have good knowledge and one understanding for the group. 4. we pray for each other, so that the group will be strong, with love, and prayerful.
Try drawing names at your next group night so that each person only has to remember to pray for one group member that week. I also have sent out reminder emails during the week to bring the prayer requests back to peoples minds in between group nights. Cast some vision on why we pray for each other and remind them that they may be the only ones who know of their group members prayer request and the importance of being faithful.
