Give each person an index card or scrap of paper. Have them write "important" on one side of the card and "urgent" on the other side. Give them about three minutes to list as many things as possible for each category. This may lead to some discussion about the difference between the two words. That is good. Use this simple definition if you would like (or have them define the words for themselves): "Urgent" may be those things that vie for our time but don't necessarily have any eternal significance. "Important" are those things that make a difference for a lifetime. After everyone has completed their lists, have them share the top three things on both of their lists.

I love this one. It is exactly what I needed for a time of sharing about time management to my group. They are falling behind in our Mind of Christ Bible Study cirriculum because they keep having all these "urgent" things occur in their lives that they need to weigh in wisdom and managing their time better. The activity is light, allows them to think and rethink how they are defining things in their lives and it is a good seg-way into our talk time. Thanks
