Overview
Christ's birth was one of miracles, signs, and wonders. One of the more unusual episodes in the first coming of Christ is the holy family's flight to Egypt, when Joseph took Jesus and Mary south to escape the wrath of Herod. What is the importance of that sojourn? And why do Egyptian Christians continue to celebrate it with pilgrimage festivals? In this study, we'll look at Jesus's journey to Egypt from a biblical perspective and explore the present day traditions and customs of Egyptian Christians.
