Revisit the One Another Commands

28 verses to bring perspective

This February, we tweeted a "one another" verse each day to help our followers revisit these popular and important passages. After all, as Jesus is spending his last days with the disciples, he tells them that how they treat one another will show the world Whom they belong to (John 13:34-35).

As people in small-group ministry, we must pay special attention to these New Testament commands and regularly examine how we're treating those around us—our fellow leaders and those in our care. Plus, we must model these principles to those in our groups so they, too, will catch the vision and usher in a new way of living and relating to others that will bring glory to God.

  1. Romans 14:13 Let us stop passing judgment on one another.
  2. Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
  3. Romans 12:16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.
  4. Colossians 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone.
  5. 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Encourage one another and build each other up.
  6. 1 John 4:11 Since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
  7. Romans 12:10 Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.
  8. 1 Corinthians 1:10 Agree with one another in what you say and be perfectly united in mind and thought.
  9. Galatians 5:13 Do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.
  10. Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
  11. 1 Peter 3:8 Be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another, be compassionate and humble.
  12. Romans 15:7 Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God.
  13. Ephesians 5:18-19 Be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit.
  14. John 13:34 A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.
  15. Hebrews 10:24 Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
  16. 1 John 4:7 Let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
  17. Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.
  18. Philippians 2:5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus.
  19. Colossians 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom.
  20. Hebrews 13:1 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.
  21. 1 John 3:11 For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.
  22. James 4:11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another.
  23. James 5:9 Don't grumble against one another, brothers and sisters, or you will be judged.
  24. 1 Peter 1:22 Love one another deeply, from the heart.
  25. Hebrews 3:13 Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called "Today."
  26. 1 Peter 4:9 Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.
  27. 1 Peter 5:5 Clothe yourselves with humility toward one another.
  28. John 4:12 If we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
